AFTER conducting a search of a home in Marlborough, two people have been arrested on suspicion to supply class A and class B drugs.

Police officers in the town carried out the search of the home in Baylie Acre at 7.30am today (August 19) after receiving a drugs warrant under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Whilst searching the home the officers found a large amount of cannabis and a powder which is expected to be cocaine, estimated to be worth £3,000.

Acting Police Sergeant Jansen Carter said: “As a result of community intelligence, we were able to successfully execute a warrant which has led to the seizure of a sizable amount of drugs and the arrest of two people.

“I hope this shows that Wiltshire Police take all reports of drug activity extremely seriously and will always act on any information we receive.

“Local intelligence can play a large part in warrants like this and with the public’s help, we can take action.

A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and a 27-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of being linked to the supply of class A and class B drugs. Both were taken to Gablecross Police Station in Swindon.

“We will continue to be proactive in stamping out drug use as we understand the huge impact this type of illegal activity can have on local communities,” added Sgt Carter.

“I would like to take this opportunity to urge members of the public to contact us on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously if preferred if they suspect criminal activity to be taking place in their area.”
