THAMESDOWN Transport is urging bus passengers who use their rural services to fill out Wiltshire Council’s public consultation on subsidised bus services.
The consultation affects passengers who use Thamesdown services 19, 20, 21 and 22 between Marlborough, Bedwyn and Hungerford, services 46 and 48 between Marlborough/Hungerford, Aldbourne and Swindon and evening services 70A/72A between Marlborough and Swindon. It also affects the late afternoon and Saturday journeys on Marlborough local service 217.
Last year Wiltshire Council spent £5.1 million on subsidising local bus services and is looking for passengers’ views on possible changes, which would impact these subsidised routes.
Peter Oliver, commercial director for Thamesdown, said: “Although we operate a relatively small number of services under subsidy for Wiltshire Council, this consultation is an important opportunity for our passengers, and all bus users in Wiltshire, to have a say on the future of their subsidised services.
"I would encourage everyone affected to complete a survey either on the buses or online.”
