STUDENTS from the red college house at St John’s in Marlborough observed a minute’s silence yesterday in memory of those who were killed in the Paris attacks last week.
The rest of the students will observe a minute’s silence in their tutor groups later this week when a presentation is shared with them on the tragedy.
Amanda Hancock, pa to principal Nicky Edmondson, said: “We are all shocked and saddened by what took place in Paris on Friday evening and as a school we will be reflecting on this.
“Trying to put something meaningful together to present to the children, especially 1,700 of them, takes a little time and we didn’t want to just issue an instruction for a minute’s silence yesterday without any proper introduction, explanation or discussion.
“We have chosen to put a presentation together for tutors to share with their tutor groups this week; part of that will be to observe a minute’s silence. We feel this will have a greater impact.”
