THE ladies of Ramsbury’s WI have adorned the oak tree in The Square with more than 100 crochet roses to mark the WI centenary.
They were initially hoping for 100 roses but members of the community kindly clicked away their needles to produce 154 of the flowers, which were hung on the tree last week. One member also made mini rose brooches for everyone.
Two events have been held under the decorated tree. Firstly, last Wednesday (16) WI members gathered to sing Jerusalem and drink a toast to the WI.
On Saturday (19) the whole village was invited to come for tea and cake. This proved popular, helped by the autumn sunshine.
Residents like the roses so much that WI has agreed to leave them in place for a further two weeks.
