INDIE rock band Spector will be performing an intimate gig in Marlborough this weekend to coincide with the release of their new album Moth Boys.

The four-piece from London will be making an appearance on Sunday (August 23) at Azuza from 4.30pm followed by a record signing next door at music store Sound Knowledge in Hughenden Yard.

It is the second time the band has come to the town as they visited three years ago to promote their first album Enjoy it While it Lasts, which reached number 12 in the charts.

The band formed in 2011 and is led by frontman and lyricist Fred Macpherson, Jed Cullen playing guitar, Danny Blandy on the keyboards and Tom Shickle on bass.

Having already impressed fans and critics alike with the singles All the Sad Young Men and Bad Boyfriend, their second album Moth Boys, released on Friday (August 21) on Fiction Records, has been eagerly anticipated.

Band member Christopher Burman left in 2013 and they are hoping their new album shows off their newly refined, sophisticated sound which will be available to buy on CD and vinyl from Sound Knowledge.

Attendance to the gig is free and more details can be found on the Sound Knowledge Facebook page or by calling the shop on (01672) 511106. Spector will be performing at Reading and Leeds festival the following weekend as well.

Irish rock band The Strypes will also be coming to Sound Knowledge on Tuesday (August 25) at 6.30pm and will be playing a short set following by a meet and greet with fans who will be able to get their copies of the band’s album Little Victories signed, which can also be purchased from the store.
