THE sister train of the Orient Express will be whisking Prospect Hospice supporters off for a fine dining experience on the rails.

The Belmond British Pullman is being chartered by the hospice for a Fine Dining Gala Dinner, setting off from Swindon on November 7.

The Pullman 1920s heritage carriages form the first part of the journey from London to Venice and have been fully restored from their glory days, when they carried many famous clients, including the Queen Mother, Winston Churchill and many members of the modern royal family.

“On November 7, guests will have the opportunity to step on board for a gala dinner with a champagne reception, table canapes, a delicious four course dinner and a bottle of fine wine served by the liveried stewards,” said a Prospect spokesman.

“For those people that don’t want to raise money for charity by sky diving or running marathons, this event provides a fabulous opportunity for them to enjoy themselves, sit back and relax with some fine dining on a four hour excursion in the ultimate of style and luxury, knowing they are supporting a great local charity.

“We hope that local people can join us for a great evening while helping to raise funds for the hospice.

"We aim to raise thousands of pounds for the charity and we have only 25 tables of two left.

“The excursion is £299 and, due to the wonderful support of local business Imagine Cruising, half of your ticket cost will now be donated directly to the hospice services.”
