POET Elizabeth Foster is showing off her talent with the launch of her first book, Poetic Reflection.

The 33-year-old from Marlborough has written 24 poems which have been published by United Press.

She approached Untied Press in 2013 after her nan, Elsie Hill, died and her poem, Goodbye but Not Forever Nan, was published in Poems from the Heart.

She said: “My nan who died recently said that I had a gift and I read the poem Goodbye but Not Forever Nan for her in the chapel of rest.

“The book is about my past experiences. I’ve been writing since I was 13 and in January United Press emailed me and asked me if I would like to have my own book so I said yes.

“The first poem I ever wrote, Those in Dunblane, is in here and it was published in quiet moments when I was 13. It’s about the disaster in Scotland and it really stirred me.

“My family really love my poems and it makes my mum cry.

“Poetry gets my feelings out and I think that some people can relate to it.”

The book is available in St Peter’s Church in Marlborough.
