TRAINS on the railway line that runs in both directions through Froxfield towards Bedwyn and Hungerford have been stopped after a lorry hit a bridge.

Wiltshire police are on the scene of the accident at Oak Hill, Froxfield, near Marlborough, after the accident happened just after 7pm.

They advise people to conctact Networth Rail for more information about rail travel along the line.

First Great Western tweeted after 9.30pm: "There will be a new train from Bedwyn to Exeter. We're going to shunt the train to Bedwyn shortly."

And West Country Travel tweeted: "Just been informed that ALL passengers on the train at #Bedwyn are safe & well."
