Burbage Christmas tree sale is marking its 20th anniversary this weekend and organisers are hoping it will be the biggest and best event yet.

The annual sale attracts hundreds of people who take advantage of the variety of trees on offer.

Last year about 750 trees were sold, raising more than £17,000 towards the upkeep of the All Saints Church, and organisers are hoping to smash that target this year.

Visitors can browse round two marquees with more than 35 market stalls and Santa will be there as well.

There will also be music from the Pewsey Belles Choir and refreshments including hot dogs, mulled wine, tea and coffee.

Over the weekend there will be more than 50 volunteers on hand to make sure everything runs smoothly, including Devizes constituency MP Claire Perry.

Organiser George Gordon said: “We’re look forward to welcoming everyone once again. There’s such a great atmosphere that people come back year after year.

“We are run entirely by volunteers who help to make this event so special.”

The event runs from 9am to 4.30pm on Saturday and from 2pm to 4.30pm on Sunday.
