Musician Philip Dukes has been awarded a Wells Cathedral School Foundation Fellowship in recognition of his achievements in the musical world.
Mr Dukes, who is artistic director at Marlborough College, started at Wells as a specialist musician in 1977 and has appeared as a concerto soloist with such prestigious orchestras as the BBC Philharmonic, London Philharmonic, City of Birmingham Symphony, Royal Philharmonic, Hallé and The Philharmonia.
He said: “Wells is so much a part of my life. I feel hugely privileged by the award.
“I can still remember when I first started as a 10-year-old and my first lesson.”
