DONATIONS have come flooding in to The Prospect Hospice Shop in Marlborough since the Savernake Hospice Appeal was launched.
The shop in the High Street is one of the three stores where supporters can make a donation to help the charity reach its £75,000 target to fund an outpatient unit at Savernake Hospital.
Shop volunteers have been handing out leaflets to help promote the campaign and have received a very positive response.
Manager Christine Rich said: “The news has been very well received. It’s seen as a win-win situation for everybody.
“We’ve had people coming in to make cash donations and to drop off items for the shop – we’re very pleased with the response.
“There are a lot of good causes out there but it’s absolutely vital that people get behind the appeal.
“This is a way for the hospice to reach the SN8 and SN9 postcodes and to be able to get treatment on your doorstep will make such a difference to people who are going through a difficult time.”
