A tree in Mildenhall has been given a colourful woolly makeover by the village’s new WI group.
The group decided to yarn-bomb the tree outside the village hall to promote the new group.
President Milly Carmichael said: “We set the group up earlier this year and we wanted to do something to encourage people to join.
“We wanted to do something with women’s craft that was associated with the WI but also something that was a bit more modern.”
Next year the WI will mark its centenary and the Mildenhall branch is hoping to have a good-sized group by then so they can get fully involved with celebrations.
Mrs Carmichael said: “All the feedback I’ve had has been really positive, it’s been a real talking point.”
