Sherston stores in running for another award
11:15am Thursday 12th July 2012 in Malmesbury By Staff reporter
Sherston Post Office and Stores is in the running for yet another award.
The business, which was bought in late 2004 by Paul and Gail Mather, is shortlisted in the 2012 Retail Industry Awards in the category of most improved store.
Since the Mathers took over they have totally refited the shop including new shelving, lighting and refrigeration and installed a second Post Office serving position.
The couple have also extended the range of goods on offer and extended the stores' opening hours.
On their website, the Mathers say: "We pride ourselves on providing a traditional friendly service and a fun place to shop combined with the widest choice of goods and services possible."
Their previous awards include being named Wiltshire Life's Village Shop of the Year in 2008 and the Countryside Alliance's Rural Shop and Post Office of the Year in 2006.
