An innovative post-natal exercise class allowing new mums to bring their babies along has come to Malmesbury.

The classes, called Buggyfit, are run by Margie Knight and are designed to be fun whilst ensuring each mum gets an appropriate workout to suit her fitness level.

Mrs Knight, a keen triathlete, said: “It’s an outdoor exercise class. Exercising outdoors is proven to give you more endorphins which make you happier, and come rain or shine I’m out there.

“The class starts with a gentle stroll and then gets into more intense cardiovascular work. We have an exercise called the caterpillar where mums walk in a line with their buggies and the one at the back runs to the front. It gets heart rates going and blood pumping. I emphasise regaining strength, tone and posture working very gently.”

Mrs Knight, 43, says being a mother of two inspired her to get involved with Buggyfit. “I apply my life experience as I’ve been through it. I’m all about the feel good, get fit package and I love to inspire others to exercise,” she said.
