A drink-driver caught for the second time has been banned from driving for almost four years.

Andrew Caton, 30, of Burton Hill, Malmesbury, admitted drink-driving in Chippenham on April 29.

A police officer had seen his car mount a kerb and drive along a grass verge in Stainer Way at 12.30am. When stopped, he said he had drunk seven or eight pints of cider.

Tests showed he had 91mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35mg.

Caton, a forklift driver, was banned for 26 months when convicted of drink-driving in March 2007.

He was banned for 47 months, fined £300 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
