PUPILS at Malmesbury School were put through their paces as they attempted to run or walk to Russia for Sport Relief.

On Friday, the pupils attempted to run or walk the equivalent distance from Malmesbury School to Russia, in celebration of the World Cup.

PE teacher Scott Mitchell, said: “The idea was to see if we could walk or run the equivalent distance from Malmesbury School to the Football World Cup, which is taking place in Russia this year.

"It’s 1,500 miles which meant some students would have had to have covered a few miles each to reach the target. Unfortunately we were a few miles short however we still covered 1,019 miles which was an impressive total and would get us to Poland.

“Most importantly, from the money counted so far, we have raised £335 for Sport Relief and there is still some money to come in.”
