A MALMESBURY towncouncillor is urging people to have their say on the proposed Lidl store situated on land east of the A429, opposite Waitrose.

At the planning and environment committee meeting on Tuesday evening, Cllr John Gundry told members of the public present that they can get people to look at issues they have with the application, but only if these issues are raised during the consultation period.

He said: “In all sorts of planning matters the role of the public can be to create the intensity at which people look at certain issues.

“We are the people who live here, we can draw attention to things we feel are important.

“I want to encourage members of the public to write in with your concerns, but also to applaud it.”

The consultation period has been extended and all comments should be submitted by April 27.

Application documents are available and comments can be made by searching for planning application reference number 18/02180/FUL on the Wiltshire Council website.
