A CHIMNEY fire caused havoc in Malmesbury earlier this morning as firefighters scrambled to fight the blaze.

Fire crews from the retained station in Malmesbury and from Swindon tackled the blaze in Cross Hayes at about 10.30am this morning (Tuesday). 

A spokesman from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said: "We were called at 10.35am to a property at Cross Hayes.

"Initially just the one crew from Malmesbury Fire Station attended but they asked for the aerial applicance to come in from Swindon."

No injuries have been reported.
