A FESTIVAL in Little Somerford will share some of its profits with a charity close to home.
Fieldview Festival from August 4-7 will back HEALS of Malmesbury which aids the poor and vulnerable.
Co-founder James Cameron said: “We put out a post asking for local charity nominations and HEALS got over half. We were touched by the personal nature of the nominations from people who had relied on their support.”
The festival, which brings up and coming grassroots music to Little Somerford, has raised money for good causes since its inception in 2009.
Gavin Grant, chairman of the trustees of HEALS of Malmesbury, said: “We are so grateful to the Fieldview Festival team for choosing HEALS of Malmesbury as their charity.
“Support for our important work from our own community is really important. Demand for our help is rising.”
It is even more encouraging when that comes from people involved in the arts and festivals.”
“So many of our neighbours are struggling with many different challenges. Demand for help from HEALS is rising. It is tremendous to know that as people enjoy the music at this local festival they will be helping us to support other local people and families who really need it.”
