The big cheese of Brinkworth has walked away with another win at this year’s Taste of West Awards which is celebrating its silver anniversary.

Brinkworth Dairy’s Blue cheese claimed the top spot at the awards this month for the first time in their manufacturing history.

Ceri Cryer of Brinkworth Dairy said: “My cheeses are all very special to me. To this point, Royal Bassett Blue had received best cheese at the Taste of the West Awards, Wiltshire Loaf has won best territorial cheese at the British Cheese Awards but the brilliance of Brinkworth Blue lay unrecognised.

“It had received silver and bronze in the past but never a top prize. I am thrilled that Brinkworth Blue received gold at the Taste of the West Awards.

Prizes are a great boost to the team in the farm and they give credence to our claims that our cheeses are amazing when we deal with wholesalers.”

Brinkworth Blue’s creamy sweet cheese will now face the other gold standard entries where judges will decide which is the best in the West.
