SIX former Malmesbury School pals raised more than £700 when they took part in a two-day hike in aid of a charity called Fill That Gap.

David Rogers, John Harrison, Paul Williams, Will York Moore, Alex Boss and Adam White, all 35, walked 52 miles from Oxford to Kemble to help fund urgent medical care in developing countries.

Mr Rogers said the trek was tough going. "At times it was hard to the point of questioning if you could take the next step,” he said.

However, they all made it to Kemble in aid of Fill That Gap, a non-profit making organisation founded last year by Mr White’s wife Mandana Mehta.

She said: “There are so many people who miss out on vital medical care because too many clinics in developing countries have to close due to lack of staff.

“We are trying to literally fill these staffing gaps using doctors from places like Europe who will be able to help communities in great need.”
