MALMESBURY’S sporting achievers are being urged to celebrate their success in style during next month’s carnival procession.

The Malmesbury Vics Football Club will be parading the Wiltshire Premier League Cup around the town in an open-top bus.

Now the club, which secured the trophy at the climax of the 2014/15, season are calling on all local winners to get on the bus.

Malmesbury Victoria secretary Julie Exton said: “We’d love other local sports people who have has success over the past year to come and join us on our float.

“We’re extending this invitation to everyone in Malmesbury who has achieved a sporting highlight this year.

“We’d love them to come on board and celebrate with us – and to bring along their trophies too.”

Malmesbury Vic veterans are also being urged to hop on the bus for the carnival procession which starts on Park Road at 6pm before wending its way around town for the next two hours.

Afterwards he Vics plan a celebration at the clubhouse where they promise live music, pints for £3, spirits for £2, a BBQ and “great company, reminiscences and free bouncy castles.” Entry is free.
