Green fingered pensioner Richard Jackson has raised more than £1,500 at a string of plant sales for the Brain Tumour Charity in memory of his late wife Ann.
Mr Jackson, 78, of Oaksey, lost his wife of 53 years in 2012 after she contracted an infection following surgery on a tumour.
Mrs Jackson, who was 74, always loved the garden at the rear of their terraced home which she considered their green haven.
So her husband decided to sell the plants that he grows there in aid of the charity which funds research into brain tumours and supports those suffering from it.
Former factory worker Mr Jackson raised £266 from his latest sale at the Market Cross in Malmesbury, taking his tally past the £1,500 mark.
Mr Jackson, who became a gardener in later life working in large local properties including those of Lord Oaksey and high profile journalist/author Penny Junor, said: “It just seems right to sell the plants that I grow for such a worthy charity.”
Their son Stuart, 53, of Minety, said: “Every penny raised is raised for a really good charity. He grows some lovely flowers, too.”
