TWO keyboard whizz kids, Soul II Soul’s in-demand DJ Jazzie B and a stage that will celebrate the glory of pure, unadulterated sound which revels in the ethos: “Listen and you’ll see.”

They’ve all been added to the globe’s most prestigious world music festival which takes place over four days at Charlton Park near Malmesbury from July 23-26.

British audio innovators Bowers & Wilkins return to WOMAD 2015 with their “genre-defining sound system” that strives to deliver hi-fi quality in a festival environment.

Bowers & Wilkins are a global leader for premium loudspeaker products and purveyors of “true sound” with nearly 50 years of audio heritage.

Their own Bowers & Wilkins Sound System stage will see performers “tailor-made” for their 135,000 watt speaker stack that promises to bring “absolute clarity to an audience that is passionate about sound.”

The stage will celebrate “the art of listening” via a series of talks, DJs and live performances from an eclectic selection of artists.

Among them will be East India Youth – the moniker adopted by experimental electronics musician William Doyle, acclaimed for a combining “strikingly original music with euphoric live performances.”

DJ sets from Analog Africa Sound System, film-maker, DJ and musician Don Letts and Soul II Soul’s Jazzie B will take the Bowers & Wilkins stage.

As will one-half of celebrated duo Goldfrapp.

Will Gregory is a composer, producer, keyboardist and woodwind player who has worked with artists as diverse as Peter Gabriel, Tori Amos, the London Sinfonietta and Portishead before he teamed up with Alison Goldfrapp at the end of the 1990’s to make a string of critically lauded atmospheric synth-pop albums.

He brings his project the Will Gregory Moog Ensemble to Wiltshire after listening again to that old synthesized chestnut Switched On Bach and being “struck anew by the amazing clarity and detail the synthesiser brought to Bach’s composition.”

He added: “I wondered why no one had attempted to assemble a group of keyboardists to reproduce this effect but in a live performance rather than as a studio multitrack.” Which, you’ve probably guessed, is exactly what he has done.

Around 100 acts from around the globe are appearing at this year’s World of Music, Arts and Dance festival from July 23-26 including De La Soul, Tinariwen, Ghostpoet, Bellowhead and Laura Mvula.
