THE Little Foxes Nursery which has been catering for families in Brinkworth for more than three decades has been deemed “outstanding” on a number of levels by an Ofsted inspector.

The pre-school facility based at the village common caters for babies of just a few months to five year-old children and currently has 128 on its books.

It has been judged outstanding in the past but Sandra Willy, who launched the nursery in 1984, said: “We are very excited and very pleased with our latest Ofsted report.

“It was probably the hardest Ofsted inspection we’ve ever had. It was so thorough – and rightly so. But we have an exceptional team here and we are all delighted at the inspector’s report.”

Inspector Melissa Cox pronounced Little Foxes outstanding on levels including how well the early year’s provision met the needs of the range of children there, and of the effectiveness of the team’s leadership and management.

She said the children were “extremely confident, enthusiastic and highly motivated to learn.”

Ms Cox went on: “Babies and children are nurtured and thrive in the welcoming surroundings.

“They develop strong attachments with attentive and caring staff, who expertly and sensitively develop each child's confidence, independence and strong sense of belonging.”
