A 15-month-old girl was airlifted to hospital yesterday after suffering a serious allergic reaction.
An ambulance service rapid response vehicle was called to Malmesbury just after 1pm following fears over the tot’s condition.
The Wiltshire Air Ambulance was summoned from Devizes at 1.15pm and arrived at the scene five minutes later.
The youngster, who has not been named, was given emergency medication before she and her mother were flow by the air ambulance to Bristol Children’s Hospital.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance paramedic Steve Riddle said the child’s condition had “improved significantly” following the ten minute flight from Malmesbury to Bristol.
“This was a result of the medication we had given to the patient in Malmesbury,” he said.
Mr Riddle was unable to say what the allergic reaction was caused by.
