ROSIE’S classmates told how they watched her video message with a mixture of emotions from distress to admiration after it was shown to them by teacher Ros Macleod.

Victoria Gordon, 14, said: “Miss Macleod said she expected that we were wondering why Rosie wasn’t at school and that Rosie had a message for us.

“I was shocked when I saw it. We knew she’d been ill but we didn’t know why.

“Rosie explained all about what was happening to her in a calm way.

“I think it was brave thing to do. She seemed to be taking it in her stride.”

Shaina Snashall, 14, said: “The video was really upsetting, obviously. We knew Rosie was ill because she hadn’t been at school for a while but we had no idea why.

“When she has been at school she’s been incredible really, almost as though there’s nothing wrong. I think she’s putting on a really brave face.”

Chris Burge, 14, said: “We knew Rosie had been to hospital for tests but no-one knew she had cancer until we saw the video. Rosie comes across really strong in it.

“Everyone was silent when it played. Then there was some crying. It was very emotional.

Rizzi Barford, 15, who saw the video at Rosie’s house because she isn’t in her form.

She said: “Doing the video was a really brave thing. It was a good idea to tell everyone what was happening.

“Rosie’s been very perky and is making the best of things.”
