Sherston's annual Mangold Hurling competition returns on Sunday with more than 50 people expected to take part.
The annual event was cancelled in 2012 due to a shortage of mangolds before returning last year with a strong turnout.
Potential competitors are able to turn up on the day as teams of three battle it out to get their mangolds closest to the target, known as a Norman.
Team organiser Martin Rae said: “We’re really looking forward to it; hopefully people turn up and enjoy themselves.
“Everyone loves it in the village, it’s a bit of fun, we are very free and easy we try and give everyone a go.”
As well as the knockout competition, there will also be a mass hurl and longest hurl competitions.
The competition will take place rain or shine in the field behind the village hall with a bar and food as well as performances from the parish brass band.
