Malmsbury's four-day Philosophy Town festival gets underway next week with events at the United Reformed Church and the Old Bell Hotel.
The festival, from Thursday, October 9 to Sunday, October 12, includes coffee houses and short book talks as well as looking at the history and philosophy of ideas and walking. Tristan Gooley is to speaks on natural navigation techniques while Stuart Evans, project director of Northumberland National Park, speaks about the new generation of public engagement centres.
The coffee festival on Sunday at the Old Bell Hotel has coffee tasting and tutoring from 9.30am to 11am with Brian Williams, writer of the award-winning Brian’s Coffee Spot and Eddie Twitchett, owner and roaster at Round Hill Roastery.
On Sunday there are book talks from Jon Tollit on designing the bookshop of the future and Nic Bottomley on Mr B’s emporium of reading delights in Bath.
Tickets are £5 per talk, £10 for a coffee tasting event and £8 for a book panel.
