Hugh Pym, the BBC’s chief economics correspondent, was the special guest when Malmesbury’s MetaMetrics opened new offices and celebrated its expansion.

The man from the Beeb joined in a round-table debate attended by local business leaders and key professionals from the education sector.

They included delegates from local schools, as well as Cirencester and Wiltshire Colleges where the marketing data consultancy have been investing in apprenticeship schemes.

He offered an encouraging outlook for the UK economy and took part in a discussion on what the ‘green shoots of the recovery’ may mean for local businesses.

A careers session for interested students followed and the event was rounded off with a drinks reception for interested local residents and business associates.

A second careers session is planned at the company on June 24 and anyone interested in attending should contact adele.baxter@metametrics.co.uk
