Pupils from Southbroom Junior School in Devizes have won £2,000 for their wildlife area project.
Tom and Luke from Year 6 represented the school and gave a presentation to a meeting of Devizes Area Board in front of about 100 people.
Southbroom was one of six projects involving young people seeking funding that night.
Tom and Luke were the youngest to speak at the meeting.
The audience voted theirs as the best presentation and their favourite project, resulting in the school bagging an extra £275.
Sue Davies, head of school at Southbroom Junior School, said: “Tom and Luke were over the moon. I’m very proud of them. To stand up in front of 100 people is quite daunting.”
The money will be used to pay for experts from Wiltshire Wildlife Trust to come in and work with the children, build bird boxes and ladybird shelters, a beehive and wildlife seeds, benches, a fire pit and fencing.
