11:56am Friday 19th August 2011 in Devizes By Staff reporter
A professional analysis of the 2010 intake of MPs has shown Claire Perry, Conservative MP for Devizes, is in joint fourth place in a list of newly elected MPs likely to become prime mnister.
Westminster based consultancy Guide Public Affairs examined the key factors affecting the promotion chances for individual MPs, including their support within their own party, their public profile, and their performance in the House of Commons and Mrs Perry scored particularly well.
Greig Baker, managing director at Guide Public Affairs, said: “A large number of professional and ambitious MPs were elected in last year’s general election. Claire Perry is a good example of this new breed of politician and she has been talent spotted by David Cameron very early on.
“We examined which MPs are most likely to achieve high office and perhaps even become Prime Minister one day. With such a good start to her parliamentary career, Claire Perry is one to watch.”
