Army major Charles Ingram appeared before Kennet magistrates in Devizes today charged with assaulting a 13-year-old boy.

Ingram, 43, of High Street, Easterton pleaded not guilty to assaulting the boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, in Urchfont High Street on April 30 this year.

His case was adjourned for a case management hearing at Salisbury magistrates' court on November 3 and he was released on unconditional bail.
