Carnival battles football and weather

DEVIZES Carnival procession served up an array of colourful costumes, floats and music on Saturday.

The cool, windy weather and the England football team's European qualifying match may have accounted for fewer participants but the quality of the floats and walking entries was excellent.

Two entries adopted a recycling theme.

Julie Nipress, her daughter, Leah, nine, and their friends Kristian De Vitto and Lauren Woods, both nine, from Devizes, made an impressive looking Dalek and K9 from recyclable materials.
