A WOMAN who dedicates herself to helping others got an overwhelming share of the votes for a village community award.
Beth Warren was named Community Minded Person Of The Year in Market Lavington, near Devizes for her work running a village hub at St Arbuck's and also running activities at Trinity Church.
Market Lavington parish council chairman Colin Osborn said: "Every year since 2008 Market Lavington Parish Council has asked villagers to vote for the person they consider should be awarded the trophy.
"Voting slips are printed in the local magazine and a collecting box is placed in the Post Office. Beth Warren was presented with the trophy this year, at an evening organised and led by Rev. Gary Gotham and members of Trinity Church at the Green Dragon. Beth gained over half of all the votes received."
He said that people praised her work at both St Arbuck's and Trinity Church. He said: "The success of St. Arbuck’s as a community hub and the help she has quietly given to so many people in the village. She and her family have recently moved to Chirton, but Beth still cycles to the Lavingtons for her work at The Rectory and at St. Arbucks."
