FOOTBALL coaches gave their young players a day to remember when he turned the gym at Devizes School into a funfair.
Tom Scott-Kelly, who is a coach with the U8s team of Bishops Cannings Youth, said: "We had lots of football orientated games and challenge. Each child was given five chocolate coins to spend at the fair.
"If a child ran out of coins, they could visit the funfair banker where they could complete a keepie uppie challenge to earn more coins."
Mr Scott-Kelly said that although it was a fun event run by him and fellow coaches Stuart Wright and Gary Turnbull it was also designed to help the children gain football skills. He said: "As far as the players were concerned, they were at a football fair, plying games and winning prizes. Meanwhile, every game and challenge they were taking part in, gave them an opportunity to learn or practice a skill.Having the parents help out too.
He called on more people to volunteer to help with the expanding club and for new players to join in. Contact him on tomscottkelly@gmail.com
