TWO days of entertainment that will take people from the ridiculous to the sublime will be on offer on Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday as the Devizes International Street Festival returns.

Wet weather has been a problem for the past couple of years but artistic director Loz Samuels is keeping her fingers crossed for dry conditions as colourful, creative and challenging acts appear.

There will be everything from soulful dance routines to slapstick comedy and plenty of music as the festival provides something for all ages and tastes.

On Sunday the action will be on the Green and will include performance from contemporary dance act Joli Vyann’s latest show which is choregoraphed by by Florence Caillon with original music by Xavier Demerliac and Ms Caillon.

Havoc will be caused by Theatre Irrwisch’s Grannie while Bramble FM will also be broadcasting live with their anarchic improvisation radio show.

The music stage will host a host of artists from across the globe. Parents can enjoy the music with a glass of real ale or a glass of fizz while also watching the children play on crafted games brought to the Green by Tombs Creatius with Monster Colours.

On Monday the action moves to the Market Place where there will stunts from Men In Slacks while Wet Picnic gives surreal lessons in table manners which have been festival goers in previous years.

Bureau of Silly Ideas’ Mobile Phone. Up Arte will have people on the edge of your seat with their breathtaking acrobatics and Duo Kaos will bring the most playful and romantic bike ride you are ever likely to have

Once again there will be a wide rang of music fromthe likes of King Brasstards and the Slovenian beats of Terrafolk.

A number of acts will appear on both days including The Acro-Chaps, Acrojou, Ashley Peevor’s Grass Men, and The Brooklyn Healer.

Ms Samuels said: "We’ve some really special acts this year and I’m sure our audiences will give them a warm a welcome as ever, if the sun stays out for us we are guaranteed an amazing weekend.

"Please look out for our hard working Festival Makers who will be out and about with buckets collecting donations, if you want to see this great festival continue please dig deep and support us so we can make it all happen again next year."

This year people will be able to download a festival programme on to their phones in advance but there will also be a printed version. Go to www.docadevizes.org.uk for how to buy either version and more details of events.
