A 19-year-old man was attacked by teenagers on scooters as he walked across The Green in Devizes yesterday afternoon.
The man was thrown to the ground and punched in the face and head by the three youths all aged about 16. He was taken to Chippenham Hospital with head and face injuries. He had also suffered from nausea and vomiting as a result of the assault which happened near Southbroom Infants at about 4.20pm.
PC Tom Crabtree said: "I would very much like to speak to any witnesses to this incident. This was a daytime attack and there would have been a lot of people in the area at this time. The victim believes a woman with two toddlers was sat on a nearby bench at the time of the assault and could have witnessed the assault.
"The three suspects are all believed to be approximately 16 and two of them were riding or carrying stunt scooters.
