THE AWARD winning Seend author of the Whimsy Wood books will be holding a special launch of her latest instalment of the children’s fiction series.

Sarah Hill, 40, from Seend, will be launching the tenth book in her series at Devizes Books in Sidmouth Street on Saturday (November 26) and signing copies. The new book, Fearne Fairy and the Landing Lesson, will be officially launched on Saturday and will be available locally and through the author’s website.

Fresh from winning an International Children’s Literary Classics Book Award, presented to her in Las Vegas in October, the author is excited to be sharing her new story with children in the county.

Mrs Hill said: “The great news is that we’re barely one third of the way into the series, so there’s over two-dozen more adventures to come. Critics and readers have praised the series beyond anything I could have ever imagined, and the awards rapidly stacking up prove the value the market is seeing in Whimsy Wood. I’m passionate about continuing to grow what we’ve started, and turning the series into a true, timeless classic.”

Sales of the Whimsy Wood series also benefit charities in the UK, with a section of the profits being given to wildlife trusts.

“Whimsy Wood isn’t just a place, but a very strategically-planned children’s book franchise that will enrich young minds, promote reading and ultimately allow children to grow through traditional stories reflecting a bygone era. There’s also a charitable side to what we do, with 10 per cent of all book sales being donated to The Wildlife Trusts,” Mrs Hill added.
