ST JOSEPH’S Nursery in Devizes is saying a fond farewell to long-time staff member Lyndsey Few – but she is not moving far, for in a couple of weeks she will be working at St Joseph’s Primary School.

After 18 years of working at the nursery in St Joseph’s Place, Mrs Few starts her new role as a teaching assistant at the school after the half-term break.

Mrs Few, 36, of Osmund Road in Devizes, said: “It is only a stone’s throw away from the nursery. I started at the nursery when I was 18 so I have spent half my working life with the nursery. I am happy about the new position but I am quite sad to be leaving the pupils, staff and the fantastic families of the nursery.

“Half of the children I have seen at the nursery will be joining the school next year, so I will be seeing a lot of familiar faces. My children and family have come to the nursery and I still see people who are now in their twenties who used to come here. It makes me feel old but I know I’m not.”

Manager of the nursery, Denise Hatala, said she will be missed by the team.

Mrs Hatala said: “It is very sad to see her go. We wish her the very best.”

As a send-off Mrs Few and the staff from the nursery will be having a leaving do to thank her for all of her hard work over the years.

“We are having a knees-up on Friday. We have booked the Black Swan so me and the girls will be having a night out,” said Mrs Few.
