TWO PEOPLE have been arrested in Devizes following a drugs warrant carried out by the police to search a house in Colston Road.

Officers executed the search warrant on the home at 6pm on September 22 where they found a quantity of class A drugs and cash.

A 31-year-old man from Chippenham was arrested on suspicion of possessing criminal property and being involved with the potential supply of class A drugs. A 27-year-old man, of no fixed abode, was also arrested on suspicion of being involved with the supply of the drugs. Both men have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

A 44-year-old Devizes man was asked by police to visit the station for an interview in relation to the arrests and subsequent supply of hard drugs.

PC Simon Margetts, of the Wiltshire Police Dedicated Crime Team, said: "Drugs can lead to anti-social behaviour and violence and can have a really negative impact on the local community, not just those that are directly involved. "We'd encourage anyone who has suspicions of drug activity taking place in their area to please report it - we often rely on community intelligence and will always act on the information we receive."

Anyone wishing to report drug activity in the area is asked to call 101 or alternatively call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
