DEVIZES award winning butchers Walter Rose & Sons is backing our 200 appeal for Julia's House by creating a special recipe sausage and donating money from every banger sold.

Butcher Steve Cook, who runs his business from Sidmouth Street, Devizes and Silver Street, Trowbridge, is selling steak and stout sausages for £9.50 a kilo and will donate 25 per cent of profits from every sale to the appeal.

He said: "I think Julia's House does a tremendous job supporting children and their families and so I am delighted to be able to help. It is good news that the charity is opening a second children's hospice in Devizes."

Mr Cook's own mind has been firmly pinned on family matters in recent weeks as his first grandchild was born prematurely and is being cared for in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Great Western Hospital.

He said: "It really does make you think about what can happen."

The special sausages are made using Corus stout brewed by Wadworth.

Other businesses in Wiltshire are also backing our the Julia's House cause. All the Lloyds bank branches in Wiltshire have chosen Julia’s House as their local charity of the year.

Banners have gone up and leaflets are on display. Some branches are also selling key rings and pens on behalf of the charity. Ged Montgomery from Julia's House Wiltshire fundraising team said: "To raise our profile in Wiltshire, all staff have now received training on the work of Julia’s House as part of their weekly Branch Team Training sessions. The support we have received from all the Lloyds Branches in Wiltshire has been incredible and with more ‘Cake Bakes’, ‘Walks’ and ‘Quiz Nights’ planned throughout 2016 is absolutely fantastic and very much appreciated."

LLoyds local director Kevin Powell said: "We are delighted to support the excellent work Julia’s House are doing in building the first ever children’s Hospice for Wiltshire.

"Many of our branches in Wiltshire have been busy raising money, with cake bakes and book sales, as well as selling the Julia’s House merchandise. Our fundraising efforts have been really well received and supported by our customers, and we look forward to raising even more money for Julia’s House in 2016."

Chippenham Town Rugby Club also wants to join in our fundraising and is to hold a charity match and fund day on March 19.
