PUPILS who left Devizes School in 1986 and want the chance to re-live memories and check out what has happened to friends are invited to a reunion.

Old school friends Paul Buckingham, Annette Alchin (was Miles), Annie Bridewell and Louise Jurkiewicz have organised the event at Devizes Football Club on March 5 from 7.30pm to 11.30pm.

Mr Buckingham, who is now a manager at Canburg, said: "Times have changed so much and we are very lucky in these times to have various forms of social media to get class of 86 invitations out to many, but inevitably, we are not able to reach all of those who attended the year.

"If people know of anyone who left school in 1986 then please let them know.

"There are still those who are under our radar, some worry that they might not know many people or might not remember. We have that covered with name tags being offered on arrival. We also have lot of photos and memorabilia to jog memories."

He said the event was designed to be a trip down memory lane to a year when Margaret Thatcher was Prime Minister and Liverpool won the league. Mr Buckingham said: "The event is to be held at Devizes Football Club which is a trip down memory lane in itself for many. We will have 80’s music all night long and some are even coming dressed in 80’s fancy dress although this is not mandatory.

"In that year the first episode of Casualty was aired and there was a royal wedding with Prince Andrew marrying Sarah Ferguson. Spirit in the Sky by Dr and the Medics was number one at the time of leaving Devizes School. We will ensure that song will feature on our play list."

He urged people whose children, grandchildren or other relatives left Devizes School in 1986 to let them know about the reunion.
