A WOMAN has told of the moment she bravely stood in front of car in London Road to prevent the driver making off after a crash.
A Suzuki Vitara and Audi A4 were in colliision in London Road at about 6.37pm on Sunday.
The woman, a 36-year-old mum, said: "I was behind the Vitara and towards the end of London Road, just about to go through Devizes, where normally there’s enough room to go both ways on the road.
"The Audi driver tried to pull out and smashed into the Vitara right in front of me.
"The Audi driver was trying to leave so I got out and stood in front of the car and called the police, I waited until they arrived and they took his keys, breathalysed him and arrested him.
"It was just terrible.”
Police said a 32-year-old Devizes man has been charged with drink-driving in connection with the accident and is due to appear before Chippenham magistrates on Thursday, December 3.
