DEVIZES teenagers are needed to be part of new act that will perform at this year's Devizes Christmas Festival on November 27.

Up to 15 youngsters aged 14 or above will help bring The Umbrella Project alive by carrying illuminated brollies while others from Circomedia Circus School in Bristol ride unicycles and walk on stilts.

The project is being organised by Devizes Outdoor Celebratory Arts along with volunteer festival makers supported by Devizes Local Youth Network and the area board.

The umbrella group will lead the processions carrying the umbrellas lit up with LED lights and dance as they go. Volunteers will meet at Devizes Town Hall from 4pm to 5.45pm on November 27 to learn the moves and then be part of the procession from 6pm.

For others there is still time to take part in a lantern making workshop. They are in the Crown Centre on Tuesday, November 24, from 6pm to 8pm and Sunday, November 22 from 10am to 4pm.

Young people who would like to take part in the Umbrella Project should ring 07880 239598 or email: info@docadevizes.org.uk
