COMEDIAN Kev Orkian will top the bill when Devizes Comedy Club holds its sixth event in the town on September 25.

Mark and Emma Cann, who started the club, are delighted with the standard of comics they have attracted over the years.

Mr Cann said: "Last year Romesh Ranganathan was on the bill and has not been off the television since. Likewise Josh Widdicombe from the year before and previous years have included Joe Lycett, Simon Evans and Sean Walsh.

"We will only do the Comedy Night if we are convinced we can produce a line up we can stand by and are 100 per cent confident they will deliver. We have set the bar very high over the years and don't want to lower it.

"That’s a challenge but with my work for the British Forces Foundation I see a lot of great comics, established and up and coming and know who will work in Devizes and who I want to get. Emma is also brilliant at spotting new talent."

The line-up in the Corn Exchange this year will include Orkian who has appeared all over the world since his last appearance in Devizes in 2010.

The evening will also include spots from two other highly regarded comedians, Alistair Barrie and Phil Jerrod.

Doors open at 7pm. Tickets costing £15 are available online at www.devizescomedy.com or from the Devizes Bookshop.
