Lavington School headteacher Sarah Lowkis is delighted that last year’s record figure of 72 per cent pass rate for five GCSEs with A* to C including English and maths has been equalled but the number of pupils with five A*s to C in any subject is up to 90 percent. This is a seven per cent increase on last year.

She said: “We are totally thrilled. We are delighted to have maintained our very high standard of 72 per cent from last year and to have done even better than last year in the other category.”

The school scored a 75 per cent pass rate with A* to C in English Language and 90 per cent in maths. Mrs Lowkis was also thrilled with an 82 per cent pass rate in French and that 88 per cent of students passed two science subjects.

Top achieving students were Rebecca Stevens with one A^, ten A*s and two As and Jacob Stoner with 10A*s and 3As. Eleanor Almond and Nicole Fok both got 8A*s and four As.

Freya Masters got 6A8s and 8As and Austin Coleman got one A^, 5A*s and 6As.
