THERE was plenty of fighting but no harm was done as the Attack! show came to Devizes at the weekend.

Visitors from across the UK and Europe for Devizes and District Wargames Group annual exhibition on Saturday and Sunday. (18,19)

Organiser Philip Mackie said: "This is the 36th year the show has been held. Attack! once again attracted fine examples of model making and painting to a high standard.

"The six periods of competition games were fiercely fought. This year local author Keith Genever showed his English Civil War artefacts and spoke to visitors about the Battle of Roundway Down.

"The club also ran a large Battle of Waterloo game, to mark the 200th anniversary of the battle last month, and will had a display showing photos taken by the three club members who travelled over to Belgium to take part in the re-enactment or watch."

Scores of people turned up at Devizes School to take part in the games and catch up with all latest information and innovations in the world of war games.

The Devizes group meets every Sunday from 2pm to 6pm at the Scout Hall in Southbroom Road, Devizes to play tabletop historical, fantasy and science fiction games, including Warhammer 40K, boardgames and role playing games.

The membership fee if £25 for adults and £15 for juniors.
