TWO teenagers need people to pit their wits to help them go on a life changing trip to Africa.

Polly Lowe-Booth and Megan Holloway, both 15, have organised a quiz for tomorrow at Devizes Sports Club to help fund an expedition to Tanzania.

The girls are part of a group from Devizes School who will spend a month helping to build a new school, promote education and engage in environmental work.

The trip in August, 2016, will finish with a five day trek to the summit of Mount Meru.

All 20 pupils have to raise funds to make the visit possible. They are taking part in joint initiatives but also have to make small group or individual efforts.

The girls have organised their event with the support of keen quizzer Rick Kibby. They have also been collecting raffle prizes to help swell their coffers.

Megan said: "This trip is extremely important to me, although it will be challenging I feel I will develop new skills and experiences, and see things in life very differently. Ultimately I will be helping other people”

Polly said: "I’m looking forward to working with the community in Tanzania, and experiencing how different their lives are compared to ours.

"I think it will be an unforgettable experience and the memories will stay with me for the rest of my life."

Both girls have been working hard with various fundraising projects and are on target so far raising nearly half of the £4,000 cost of the trip.

But they would still like to hear from any businesses who would like to sponsor one of the ten rounds of the quiz or donate any raffle prizes.

The girls thanked local businesses which have already helped them in their fundraising.

The quiz starts at 7.30pm tomorrow and costs £10 for a team of four. To find out more ring (01380) 829821.
