MORE than 500 people enjoyed a sunny morning at Rowdeford School last Saturday for the special school’s annual summer fete.
Visitors were able to enjoy a variety of different activities including a display of over 100 different vintage cars and motorbikes, an enterprise shop selling products made by the pupils, and a sale of plants grown in Rowdeford’s own garden.
There was also a Muppet themed scarecrow trail made by the pupils, with the winning scarecrow to represent the school in the Rowde Village Scarecrow Trail next month.
Rowdeford business manager Rachel Lambert said: “Everyone had a great time; the vintage cars are definitely a major attraction and drew a large crowd.
“The event is the school’s main fundraiser of the year with this year’s fete raising approximately £2,800.”
The school have said the money raised will go towards further enhancing the playground facilities and to extend the outdoor fitness trail, called a Trim Trail, to include more sensory experiences for users.
